More Sights, Sounds And Speed For Sonic Frontiers

Remember reading my Sonic Frontiers article sandwich throughout 2022 [40] [41]? Well, consider this one the little cupcake with blue frosting for dessert, considering that June marks the heroic blue rodent’s birthday [26] [28]. I know that I am a little late to the party, but Sonic’s birthday can still be celebrated on the 26^th of July because that marks the anniversary of his first adventure’s release in Japan [19]. The second update for Sonic Frontiers consisting of downloadable content for the game that redefined the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise was released yesterday alongside Sonic Origins Plus during this year’s Sonic Central after another trailer for Sonic Superstars was revealed at the second Nintendo Direct of 2023 [12] [28] [31]. And speaking of Sonic Superstars, I am quite fascinated at how Dr. Eggman’s LEGO form will be a skin for those who pre-order the game [28]. Aside from how I am pretty sure Sir Lancelot in his second shining armour will protect a fair lesbian who reminds him of Maria Robotnik during Pride Month [11] [28], I shall continue to party after chuckling in amusement at Dr. Eggman’s rap and other antics in a new advert for his debut in a series of LEGO playsets [28] [31].

Aside from the event celebrating Sonic’s birthday with co-operation of Hypland in Los Angeles [4] [8], can you believe that there will be a new version of Sonic Dash featuring the interpretations of the characters from Sonic Prime that will be released as a promotion for the second season by the name of “Sonic Prime Dash” [28]? [28]

Despite my bitterness towards the Sonic fandom at times, I have nothing against those who still see the blue speedster and his adventures as coping mechanisms. Heck, he was a coping mechanism for me when I was attending a high school that was like Waterloo Road against my will [2] [15]. And now, on with the birthday celebration [31]! [28]

Let us have a little recap of 2023 before Sonic’s birthday. Previously, the first update for Sonic Frontiers featured:

•       The Juke Box for playing any of fifty-three songs with forty of them being unlockable [17] [30]
•       Photo Mode for taking photographs [17] [30]
•       Battle Rush [17] [30]
•       Cyber Space Challenge [17] [30]
•       New “Springtime” designs for the Koco [30]

The day after the first wave of DLC and the hype for Sonic Origins Plus [23] [24] [34] [42], Princess Elise from Sonic ‘06 made a grand return as a figure skater with Silver the Hedgehog in new artwork for the 2023 calendar on Sonic Channel, much to my delight as she deserves some new recognition after so long [16] [25]. Furthermore, I am pretty sure that she has gotten more confident and potentially independent in a new timeline after the events of Sonic ’06 were erased, resulting in her father possibly being alive [16]. Aside from that, I remember trying out the Photo Mode on the PlayStation 5 at my local senior gaming club, checking out all the filters [14]. Now that the second update is out alongside Sonic Origins Plus and the official trailer for the second season of Sonic Prime [18] [22] [28] [34] [42], I believe that the year 2023 has gotten even better for Sonic the Hedgehog.

What does the second update have to offer? There are some new Open Zone Challenges referred to as “Action Chain Challenges”, providing something fairly new to the overall gameplay experience [17] [28] [31]. Some new members of the Koco tribe will also make an appearance to join the festivity, including some big Koco wearing crowns [31]. And speaking of festivity, Mr. Sonic will wear some funky sunglasses, a red bowtie and a matching party hat, faintly similar to his classic incarnation wearing a tuxedo with a top hat in a new event in Sonic Speed Simulator on Roblox, much to our amusement to go along with what appears to be a new birthday-themed area [28] [31]. Those decorations are completely optional, like changing a sim’s hair colour and planning their outfit in The Sims 2: Super Collection [1] [17]. There also seems to be the return of the iconic spin dash, which can be unlocked by achieving the S rank in the Action Chain Challenges [28] [31]. And last but not least, there is a new Game + mode to dash through [17]. I have no association with Doc Brown from the Back To The Future trilogy [5], but suppose something similar to the second wave of DLC for Sonic Frontiers can be established in honour of Sonic’s 40^th anniversary in 2031 [15] [28] [31].

There is still some speculation on how new storylines from the third update will excel, providing further depth within the supporting characters’ roles and their forthcoming playabilities [17]. Firstly, it is consistent and convenient to let Knuckles be a playable character, considering how Sonic Frontiers Prologue: Divergence was centred around him and how he got captured [29]. There will also be more to the role of Miles “Tails” Prower, the host of TailsTube [28]. Amy Rose’s playability is sure to provide some preteen power, considering how 2023 is the 30^th of anniversary of her debut and there is an upcoming comic book series from IDW Publishing centred on that. There is something touching about Sage evolving into a daughter figure to Dr. Eggman, which gave him some depth underneath that villainous layer [14]. It is speculated that the forthcoming new plot points in Sonic Frontiers for Tails, Knuckles and Amy will take place in Cyber Space, allowing them to re-experience some memories as well [14]. Could Sage also be playable within some expanded character progression [17]? Some new perspectives aside from the blue speedster’s await sometime after Wiggler, Kamek and Petey Pirhana compete in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass [38] [39].

The main adventure in Starfall Islands, including Chaos Island and Rhea Island was an open-world amazement [21], yet it will soon be extended with some new playable perspectives. [17]

Happy 32^nd anniversary to the blue speedster’s legacy [26]! 2023 has gotten even better for him [28]. I still do not doubt that Sonic is an LGBTQ+ rights supporter, considering how his birthday is within Pride Month [13]. He must fix a big mistake he made with his antiheroic counterpart in the second season of Sonic Prime later this Summer [28]. Can you believe that he will be a special guest in a new stage based on City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2 in Samba De Amigo: Party Central as well? In the meantime, please show some thankfulness, compassion and respect to all of the artists and animators who worked on Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, including the one who left its production [32] [36]. Criticism can provide importance, but we can express why we dislike a certain aspect of a new movie without insulting the appearances of actors or actresses or those who can point out pros over cons [3] [35]. While FIFA eSports players balance their passion for FIFA footballing with their amazingly large income from it and we sense some redemption that awaits sinners in Hazbin Hotel later this Summer [6] [7] [37] [43], let us continue to relish in the good times to be grateful for, including the celebration of a heroic blue hedgehog’s birthday [26] [28].

This August, Sonic will go on his 900^th adventure [20] [33]. In the meantime, the second part of the Season One finale of Helluva Boss has finally been unleashed from its legality struggles [9] [10]. How about a slice of cake for the Sonic supporters who are noble at heart [26]? [27]

Race With Wiggler, Kamek and Petey Piranha In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass This Summer

Can you imagine if Nintendo did not reject the idea of a Super Mario comic book series by Archie Comics back in 2019 [36]? Nonetheless, let us be grateful for new titles and DLC that will definitely be released soon [25] [27]. Over a week before the release of four new pastel colours for Joy-Cons [24] [26], various trailers for imminent titles and other announcements wowed gamers, especially Nintendo nerds and Poké players during this Summer’s Nintendo Direct, which is the second Nintendo Direct of 2023 [25] [27] [52] [53]. Aside from the confirmations of a remake of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Detective Pikachu Returns, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Persona 5 Tactica and WarioWare: Move It! being marketed this Autumn [25] [27] [41] [42], it has been revealed that there will be THREE new racers for the fifth wave of DLC as part of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass later this Summer [25] [27] [39]. As fans of Rainbow High are hyped for Rainbow High: Runway Rush and Bratz fans are starstruck at a new collaboration with Krash Komestics and the second wave of Mini Bratz [3] [4], let us speed up with the full potential of the fifth wave of DLC for a deluxe port of Mario Kart 8 [16] [17] [25] [27]. 

I may have been distressed by a new wave of YouTube accounts impersonating and misrepresenting me beyond my creepypasta days [35] [49] [50], but I am delighted to express my thoughts on the next wave of DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe whilst I am also excited for other forthcoming experiences [25] [27]. [25] [27]

Let us start with the new course for either the Feather Cup or Cherry Cup revealed in the trailer [25] [27]. Squeaky Clean Sprint is set in a giant bathroom. Thank goodness there is no Great Mighty Poo in the toilet [14]! Previously, the other three courses besides Yoshi’s Island in the Fruit Cup turned out to be remasters of:

•      Riverside Park from Mario Kart: Super Circuit [39]

•      Amsterdam Drift from Mario Kart Tour [20] [39]

•      DK Summit from Mario Kart Wii [39]

The courses in the Boomerang Cup are incarnations of:

•      Waluigi Stadium from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! [18] [39]

•      Singapore Speedy from Mario Kart Tour [20] [39]

•      Mario Circuit from Mario Kart DS [19] [39]

•      Bangkok Rush from Mario Kart Tour [20] [39]

As hygienic the race through Squeaky Clean Sprint seems, which is what I ought to know about as a part-time cleaner on weekends, who knows what other remakes of circuits from the other Mario Kart titles will be included in the Feather Cup and the Cherry Cup [39]? Could a brand new course for either the Acorn Cup or Spiny Cup be based on Inkpolis in Splatoon 3 or the open wilderness from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the sixth and final wave later this year [52] [53]? There will be some more predictions for that later.

Let us hope that Squeaky Clean Sprint will not be too slippery to race on! [25] [27]

Princess Peach in her ice wedding dress is Nintendo and Illumination’s answer to Disney’s Elsa the Snow Queen and I cannot wait for a new adventure starring her that could be a new origin story or a sequel to Super Princess Peach taking a different direction in 2024 [6] [7] [25] [27] [45]. But what about the new playable characters for the fifth wave of the Booster Course Pass [25] [27]? Firstly, Petey Piranha is yet to return to the Mario Kart series after his co-dependant debut as a racer in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! [18]. Secondly, Wiggler, who was previously a racer in Mario Kart 7 looks determined to not get squished with his comeback alongside Petey [15] [25] [27]. And last, but not least, Kamek is sure to cast a spell of determination to win outside of Mario Kart Tour [20]. Aside from Kamek turning a race erratic [21], Wiggler often losing his temper and Petey Piranha driving solo later this Summer [25] [27], Detective Pikachu still needs his precious caffeine for a new case to solve, Mallow and Geno look refreshed in their new looks for Super Mario RPG and seeing Mario as an elephant in the trailer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder is rather bewildering [25] [27] [41] [42].

And here is Kamek with a red mushroom! But like I said, let us hope the brand new track will not be too slippery! [25] [27]

Any ideas on what the sixth wave could ring our Mario Kart racers? Like I have hoped for as we analysed the trailer of content from the fourth wave back in March [52] [53], Pauline could be one of the last two racers [20] [40]. I still believe Honey Queen deserves a second chance, resulting in the return of the purple Peach Parasol from Mario Kart 7 [15] [52] [53]. Alternatively, part of me would not be surprised if the last two racers for the sixth wave will be Diddy Kong and Funky Kong, considering how iconic the Donkey Kong Country series is [51]. As previously mentioned, there could be a racing track adaption of Inkpolis from the Splatoon trilogy [52] [53]. Or better yet, another new track in the Super Mario universe that could be based on a location that has not been mentioned for years, such as the Star Carnival from Mario Party 8 [21]. Whether Pauline and Honey Queen will be the last two downloadable racers or not [52] [53], let us keep showing respect for female gamers who have been harassed online [30], yet raise awareness of male gamers being harassed too without any form of aggression as both Princess Peach AND Princess Daisy will be playable alongside Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder this October [25] [27] [46].

Pauline is still our 1-up girl [23]! I wonder if she will be in a stunning new outfit in a future tour in Mario Kart Tour [20] [40]. [40]

Honey Queen can always be a new racer in a future tour in Mario Kart Tour, considering the existence of this badge featuring her emblem from Mario Kart 7 [15] [20]. [37]

Aside from Petey, Wiggler and Kamek becoming new members of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxeroster very soon [25] [27] [39], I do not doubt how elevating Super Mario Bros. Wonder seems with new powerups throughout a new adventure and an eye-catching new art style [25] [27]. And who knows when some unforgettable new adventures will begin in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios in Orlando, the place I fondly remember being at when I was a preteen [43]? I also believe there could be a sequel to Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time that could be the “real Crash Bandicoot 5” instead of Crash Twinsanity with the visually less favourable version of Crash from Crash of the Titans and Crash Mind Over Mutant being another supporting character from another alternate universe within some possible redemption [2] [5] [47]. Speaking of redemption, the delayed eighth episode of the first season of Helluva Boss can finally be legally released very soon [1] [12] [13], much to my sinful delight [11]. Before Super Mario Bros. Wonder brings back the modern side-scrolling pizazz that began with New Super Mario Bros. back in 2006 [22] [25] [27], have fun with the fifth wave later this Summer, Mario Kart racers [39]! And Happy 40th Anniversary to Mario Bros. [38]! 

I simply cannot recommend The Super Mario Bros. Movie to fans of the Super Mario franchise enough [45]! It deserves a sequel, that is for sure [51]! In the meantime, a nostalgically new chapter of Smosh begins after Anthony Padilla’s return [31] [34]. Remember the rejected Mario games that were “discovered” over a decade ago [32], along with the rejected Zelda games [33]? [44]

Stay as sweet as Princess Peach-themed cupcakes from Universal Studios Hollywood, Nintendo nerds [28]! I wonder if the toppings for her next recipe for Mario will be white strawberries for a slight change [10]. [28]
