The Sixth Season Of Fortnite’s Second Chapter Welcomes Lara Croft

I remember the times when my sister and I played Fortnite: Battle Royale on her iPad and I felt the frustration of not managing to kill anyone before I got killed [3]. During the laughable processes of each epic fail, I noticed that its elements made it the lovechild of Minecraft and Team Fortress 2 [23] [39]. Later throughout the run of two chapters, many crazy crossovers were established. I completely understand that some gamers find Fortnite overrated and find its crossovers rather forced and quite uninspired, but I am sure plenty of tomb raiders are thrilled to encounter one of the most iconic female characters in the history of video games in the hyped third-person shooter that continues to be enriched with new seasons [6] [9] [17] [27] [42] [43]. As delicious as the doughnuts from Krispy Kreme look in association with Saint Patrick’s Day, especially the ones that resemble a white-furred unicorn with a green and white mane [21], I am delighted to discover that the courageous and intelligent Lara Croft will be a playable character in the sixth season of the second chapter of Fortnite: Battle Royale that appears to be nicknamed “Primal” [28] [29].

My girl! I am so proud of her! [6] [17] [27] [43]

Before the real deal was welcomed to the battle against other battlers and the storm, there was a character in an earlier season of Fortnite whose name sounded highly familiar. By the name of “Cara “Indiana” Loft”, she had blonde hair, consisted of blue eyes and wore a red tank top. She was the lead survivor in the Mythic rarity [12] [16] [44]. At least she was not as corny as Lara Jones from Lara Jones - Temple of Tickets and Lara Jones - Ticket Raider [49] [50]. Additionally, Cara is not as zany as Tara, the parody of Lara from Spyro: Year of the Dragon [43]. Now that the real Lara Croft is in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale, I just wonder if the unique lead will at least be remembered by those who miss the days of the first chapter and its seasons [31] [38]. As previously stated, would you believe that the franchise has run through seventeen seasons, including a “pre-season” that was the first-ever one since 2017 [14] [15]? As for Cara “Indiana” Loft, perhaps she could suddenly become playable in a future season, much to Lara Croft’s astonishment?

Where is Cara Loft now? [16]

The angel-faced archaeologist will be playable in four different styles based on different eras of her franchise [8] [40] [45]. Firstly, the current incarnation of her from the Survivor timeline is seen about to launch an arrow from her bow in the trailer, looking absolutely stunning. Next, there is a beautiful recreation of her appearance from Tomb Raider Anniversary referred to as “Lara Croft (25th Anniversary)” [2] [45]. To alongside with her grace is a solid gold equivalent as a reference to one of the iconic and rather amusing death scenes [2] [8] [40], similar to how a certain merc from Marvel also became playable in a solid gold suit [11]. And last but not least, her classic form with blocky hair and much less detailed attire has been adapted from the games during the times when Core Design was still in business [8] [40] [45]. All three Laras from different timelines are part of a fairly small but welcoming both old school and new age tomb raiders who are up for challenging Fortnite fighters while many fans of Raven from the Teen Titans franchise are thrilled to hail her in the sixth season of Fortnite’s second chapter [6] [10] [17] [27] [42] [43]. Reaching Level 14 is required to unlock all three Laras [9] [45], so get shooting!

I can tell that the appearances of all three incarnations of Lara are more acclaimed than her appearance in Tomb Raider Reloaded [37] [52] [53]. [45]

I love the legend and survivor’s Fortnite appearances as much as I love the fairly new heart-shaped flower arches in Hako-Hako! My Mall [1] [49]! And I do not doubt that old school Tomb Raiders love her classic look. [45]

I would say welcoming Ms. Croft to the battlefield is quite fitting due to how the game contains a variety of guns, including pistols [2] [3]. I know that it worked for Mr. Wade Wilson, otherwise known as “Deadpool” during the second chapter’s second season back in early 2020 due to how he is also often armed with two pistols [55]. However, I completely understand not every Deadpool fan was fond of his appearance in Fortnite due to the lack of voice acting that contradicted his nickname [5]. It may seem a little too bizarre to see Croft do various dance moves, especially as her younger self in the reboot [32], but it is nice to see her loosen up after all the trauma she had to go through [18] [36]. The same can apply to Kratos from the God of War games as he was welcomed to the world of Fortnite during the second chapter’s fifth season [7] [20]. Nevertheless, I do believe the whole Fortnite experience for all incarnations of her would see a little too witty for some hardcore tomb raiders and fans of the God of War franchise, despite the game’s variety of weaponry [3]. But ultimately, I can see that her collaboration is at least tolerably adventurous at best.

It quite is strange to see Lara skydive with a stick of dynamite in each hand [40], but how she is able to use a bow and some arrows as her younger incarnation is outstanding and faithful to what made her iconic in the reboot timeline [18].  [6] [17] [27] [43]

Maciej Śliżewski did a splendid job at his own alternations to the official image of the old school Lara to make her seem like she is in her Angel Of Darkness attire and her alternate regular attire. It sure is awesome how she can use guns in the sixth season of Fortnite: Chapter 2. [34]

Fortnite: Battle Royale sure has been ambitious with gaming permission to welcome iconic characters from different franchises, including Captain America [4], Master Chief [28] [29], Batman [46], Daredevil [13] [47] [48], Harley Quinn and Deadpool [5] [54] [55]. Surely the volunteering stars of other franchises look amazing in Fortnite, but looks can be deceiving if simply throwing them in just for the sake of an ironic crossover turns out to be faithless. Nonetheless, many Tomb Raider fans on Twitter are absolutely amazed, including me [34] [40]. As long as these collaborations remain quite respectful to what made these third-party characters popular in the first place, they remain thrilling. What will be next in the future of Fortnite? The I.M.P from Helluva Boss beautifully rendered in 3D in association with the show’s second season [19]? Or perhaps Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb from Hazbin Hotel [24] [25] [26]? Also, what will be next for Ms. Croft? A LEGO Tomb Raider game? Oh wait [22]. Despite many crossovers, Fortnite should still make room for possibly some more original characters in future seasons. If you find Fortnite to be overrated, that is no problem at all because opinions are opinions. As for Fortnite fighters who are still tuning in to the second chapter in the early 2020s, bring it on! Now everybody do the floss [30] [33]!
