A Wholesome Trio of Ambitious And Adorable Games Await Us

Do you adore cuteness in video games? A prime example would be Pikachu and Eevee being the two most popular, as well as two of the most adorable Pokémon from the Pokémon franchise [6] [14]. These are the three imminent titles that reek of the sweet scent of cuteness and provide full potential in their own wholesome and fantastical ways [15] [31] [37] [38] [39] [40]. Furthermore, let us proceed to analyse the potentials of these three titles, just like how we had a jolly stroll through the creative and wholesome potentials of Sticky Business, Camper Van: Make it Home and Gourdlets back in April [32] [36] [42] [43]. Speaking of Sticky Business, that creative casual game will be released in just a few days [36].
 

What can be as cute as Fluttershy from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic playing any of the three original Nintendogs games [22] [27] [28]? Well, any of the three forthcoming titles that are about to be discussed. [38]

Fans of Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Aggretsuko and all the other cute critters from Sanrio ought to pack their suitcases ready for a virtual vacation with them developed by Sunblink later this month [37] [39]. Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a vibrant life simulator that can be considered the next Animal Crossing: New Horizons as there appear to be a variety of activities you can do with any of the Sanrio characters [24], including:

•      Catching insects [39]
•      Fishing [39]
•      Watering flowers [39]
•      Rearranging furniture in a house [39]
•      Crafting tools on a crafting table [39]

As casual as this game seems with its similarities to Animal Crossing [20] [24], some other activities seem riskier and remind me of a few minigames in Wii Play [23], such as:

•      Swimming underwater to possibly find lost treasures [39]
•      Solving puzzles in a temple [39]
•      Riding mine carts [39]

The player can customise their own Sanrio-styled avatar, quite like how an animal crosser can customise their avatar in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp [21]. Hello Kitty Island Adventure is coming out exclusively for Apple Arcade in just over two weeks after plenty of alpha and beta testing [37] [39], making it another pricelessly adorable casual Apple Arcade game after the release of Cooking Mama: Cuisine! last year [7] [26]. 
 

Near the end of this July, Hello Kitty Island Adventure could be an outstanding alternative to Animal Crossing: New Horizons [24] [37] [39]. Perhaps in an update for the game, Mimmy, Kitty’s twin sister can join the vacation [5] [10]. [39]

Next, we shall discuss the potential of Chicken Journey from looneyware [15] [38] [41]. Chicken Journey is a puzzle platformer about…you guessed it! A chicken who goes on an adventure! The purpose of the adventure is to find out what came first: the egg or the chicken [15] [38]. Some of my fellow gamers may recall the first trailer that was released during the indie game showcase for last year’s Wholesome Direct [41]. As shown in the new release date trailer, there will be objectives that show up at the top right corner and some NPCs who are also chickens and can talk to you [15] [38]. There are a variety of gameplay gimmicks throughout the journey that seem to add to the adventurousness, such as mashing “X” to cut a rope by the power of the chicken’s beak, gliding in the air with a leaf after bouncing from a mushroom and using the left analog stick to pull a crate [15] [38] [41]. Hatching this August on Steam and the Nintendo Switch, Chicken Journey could be a huge step up from Super Chick Sisters and New Super Chick Sisters, the two fairly controversial and preachy platform games from PETA that parody the Super Mario series [29] [30]. 

 

Due to how friendly the NPCs seem, along with the soothing music and lack of fighting, Chicken Journey aims to be a chilled adventure aside from its puzzles being a form of challenge [15]. [38]

And last, but not least, you could be hired as a barista in Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café, an upcoming cafe simulation and rhythm game developed by Anaïs Salla and yet to be published by DevilishGames [31] [40]. Quite similar to creating a pro design at Able Sisters’ in Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City [20], you can freely draw the top of a customisable beverage for a customer [31] [40]. Another form of customisation shown in the trailer is how the player can change the interior design of the café. But of course, a café simulation game ought to be not without some form of challenge. How the way to grind coffee beans in a grinder is to press a button at the right timing, just like in several other rhythm games, including Hatsune Mike: Project Mirai DX is imaginatively impressive [33]. Awww! How adorable are these forthcoming titles [15] [31] [37] [38] [39] [40]? I know I like my fair share of cuteness in games as the quirky art style in the weapon cutscenes in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time made Ratchet look so cute and I desperately wanted to rescue all of those adorable robots when I first played Robots Rescue, the minigame starring the lovable Astro Bot from The Playroom VR [34] [35]! The colourful and summery vibes of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the pixelated pluckiness of Chicken Journey and the easy-going diligence in Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café await us in the second half of 2023 [15] [31] [37] [38] [39] [40]. And of course, there will be some more wholesome experiences, including Princess Peach’s second own game and hopefully Camper Van: Make it Home next year [32] [44] [45]. Aside from some hearty doses of adorableness, we can also crave something barbaric, such as Mortal Kombat 1 this Autumn after its beta testing and the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss [3] [9] [16] [18]. You can get the best of both. No Hannah Montana reference intended [8]. Until then, let us be kind and spread positivity to one another as we wait for or work on new establishments [15] [31] [37] [38] [39] [40].

I do not doubt that Nemesister from the first episode of the fourth season of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends would approve of Hello Kitty Island Adventure and Nom Nom: Cozy Forest Café for their adorableness [11] [12] [31] [37] [39] [40]. Which one of the three titles consisting of cuteness will you tune into? [39]

A Wholesome Trio Of Upcoming Creative Casual Games

Did my fellow gamers have a splendid Western Easter [7] [8] [25]? As much as I adore the new light blue heart emoji after updating to iOS 16.4 [23], I adore the concepts of the three upcoming casual games with notably different premises [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. I have a fondness for casual games with wholesome premises, such as growing plants, practising gratefulness and showing kindness by writing thoughtful letters to others in Kinder World [27] [28] [29] [30] [33], which is what I would recommend to someone like Stolas from Helluva Boss [14] [15] [16] [17] [35] [37]. As adorable as Ashley Graham is as a mouse within a meme regarding her improved portrayal in the remake of Resident Evil 4 and amazing as Princess Elise from Sonic ’06 is as a figure skater on a 2023 calendar from Sonic Channel after almost seventeen years of her absence [32] [41] [51] [52] [63], the three forthcoming titles yet to be discussed are beaming in a wholesome kind of fantasy in their own ways, providing their own potentials [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. Beyond being potentially “defined” by online hate, blatant misrepresentation [24] [64], and risks of being manipulated, I shall relish in pride in being a preppy nerd who sees said potential in three forthcoming titles and analyse what all three titles will have to offer [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62].

I adore the soothing music and the theme of mental health benefits in Kinder World [33]. Could three upcoming games be as recommendable in terms of wholesomeness and some form of tranquillity? [33]

Attention, digital art lovers! The vibrant and beautifully pixelated graphics seem to enrich the mood of crafting quirky and adorable imagery for clients, which appears to be the objective of the forthcoming game from Spellbound Games titled “Sticky Business” [54] [62]. However, there is no way to exactly draw any element as there is a list of images on the right to select, rotate, resize, rearrange, and combine, much like in Rugrats Print Shop, a creative software I played with a lot when I was a kid [3] [48]. The list includes a gay pride flag, a bisexual flag, a non-binary flag, and an asexuality flag, making it a virtual haven for LGBTQIA+ players [38] [54] [62]. There is also a section of blank shapes that can be coloured in, depending on the player’s choice [54] [62]. The player can earn some of these images by purchasing them with coins or heats from the Sticker Shop within a rewards system, leading to some motivation to send completed imagery to clients for a certain amount of time. Why do the visuals and gameplay remind me of “Dos Boot”, the seventh episode of the third season of Dexter’s Laboratory [18]? Sometime in the second quarter of 2023, Sticky Business could be stuck in the hearts of a creative casual crowd [54] [62]. 

The player can also add some effects to the stickers, such as glittery hearts and learn a little about each client [54] [62]. I would also recommend the gay pride flag and some galactic sticker designs to Stolas from Helluva Boss [35] [37]. [62]

The experience of Sticky Business might as well be the modern-day equivalent of Rugrats Print Shop [3] [48], much to my delight. [62]

There is a crowdfunding page for Camper Van: Make It Home on Kickstarter [34] [50] [57]. The premise of the upcoming simulation is freely organising a camper van at a tranquil pace in a way that is like arranging furniture in a house or dormitory in The Sims 2: Super Collection and in an apartment in The Sims 2: Apartment Life [1] [19] [20] (which could have been called “The Sims 2: Flat Life” in the United Kingdom [49]) [34] [50] [57]. The visuals are artistically stunning, enhancing the vibes of a summery getaway in a camper van, thanks to Alba Marless, Pablo Ruiz, Ene Arizkorreta and Laura Rueda [34] [50]. One of the most notable aspects of the simulation would be the adorable dog named “Buffy” who will be the player’s travelling partner [57]. Alternatively, either a cat or iguana can be the companion [50]. There is also merchandise for backers, which is a promotionally thoughtful way to thank them for their donations and support. As an animal crosser who has recently gotten back into Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp after receiving a new iPhone 13 Mini as a birthday present [44] [66] [67], I can tell that Camper Van: Make It Home is going to be something special on Steam, mobile platforms, and the Nintendo Switch, especially if you have travelled in a camper van before [34] [50] [57]. 

Shout-out to the creative director of Camper Van: Make It Home, Anabel Sánchez and all the other members of Matapata Studio [34]! I hope the Kickstarter page will reach its goal this May [50]! And speaking of The Sims, there will be four new kits for The Sims 4 from April to June [55]. [50]

Someday, I can have an ideal pet who will be there whether I feel like I need to benefit my mental health aside from watering plants in Kinder World [27] [28] [29] [30] [33]. [50]

If you adore building a new world within your own flow in a sandbox, Gourdlets could be right up your pixelated alley. The experience shown in the gameplay trailer appears to be Minecraft in the eyes of a Stardew Valley character in a bird’s eye view [9] [39] [46]. As shown in the Steam trailer in November 2022 and the Demo trailer in January, the creator of a new land can even decide how big their island will be by placing new chucks of land, which would feel quite like expanding a restaurant in Restaurant City or a nightclub in Nightclub Cityback in the simpler, drama-free Facebook days, but no levelling up required [3] [19]. Alongside the growth of the island, the population of cubic creatures known as “gourdlets” will increase and interact with various aspects of the town, such as roasting marshmallows by a campfire and fishing in a dock. The interior of houses can also be customised, much like the progress of arranging objects in Restaurant City and Nightclub City [3] [19]. There ought to be a lot more to enrich a flourishing new island with and to ensure that gourdlets will always be safe and happy after the overall reception of the demo. 

Gourdlets also provides the option to build a new land in the daytime or at night [58] [59] [60]. What a missed opportunity to change the time of day in Club Penguin [11]! [59]

Did I mention that the pixelated graphics in Gourdlets look marvellous with blossomed animations, providing some form of liveliness within the power of freely building a country with no objectives [2] [58] [59] [60]? Aside from how the stems of the gourdlets’ heads remind me of the Pikmin from the Pikmin series [45], the shape of their bodies reminds me of Talking Carl [10]. You know, the red creature that repeats what you say on your mobile device? Let us hope none of them will get into a fight over whose voice is higher [5]. [58]

In conclusion, all three forthcoming games have been proposed to provide some form of creative interaction in a different way [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62], much to my interest. Aside from the full potential of the calmness and creativity of Sticky Business, Camper Van: Make it Home and Gourdlets, we can tune into something lot more zany and humourous, like Pizza Possum, which is an upcoming action game about a possum who gobbles up food on a run from the police [61]. Has that pesky little fella looked up to Sly Cooper at some point [47] [53]? Speaking of cunning video game characters, some of them at least have the potential to provide some form of wholesome as Bowser’s bizarrely beautiful ballad dedicated to Princess Peach almost moved me to tears and I am still thankful for how Deadpool helped me cope in 2020 [22] [68]. He has been one of my coping mechanisms for three years [25] [65]. The wholesomeness and causal nature of Sticky Business, Camper Van: Make It Home 
and Gourdlets awaits those who seek new interactive adventures apart from some rereleases and remarkable recreations of treasured memories [4] [31] [56] [57] [58] [62]. Even during times of toxicity and sudden misfortune, let us continue to be kind for the sake of those in need as we wait for or work on engaging new establishments [12] [13] [25] [40] [44] [56]. 

A fast-paced action game with some antiheroic comedy awaits those who like pizza…and possums (including Moxxie from Helluva Boss [36]?). In the meantime, fans of Attack on Titans better not strive in the storm for too long in the latest collaboration in Fortnite [21]. [61]

As for the three games with wholesome premises that provide some form of creativity, they await gamers out there like me, from the freedom of building a homeland for gourdlets to diligently creating imagery for clients within a business [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. Which one will you choose to play to unwind at the time of its initial release date? Or why not give all three of them a shot? It is your freedom as a player! Make the most of it! [62]
