A Wholesome Trio Of Upcoming Creative Casual Games

Did my fellow gamers have a splendid Western Easter [7] [8] [25]? As much as I adore the new light blue heart emoji after updating to iOS 16.4 [23], I adore the concepts of the three upcoming casual games with notably different premises [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. I have a fondness for casual games with wholesome premises, such as growing plants, practising gratefulness and showing kindness by writing thoughtful letters to others in Kinder World [27] [28] [29] [30] [33], which is what I would recommend to someone like Stolas from Helluva Boss [14] [15] [16] [17] [35] [37]. As adorable as Ashley Graham is as a mouse within a meme regarding her improved portrayal in the remake of Resident Evil 4 and amazing as Princess Elise from Sonic ’06 is as a figure skater on a 2023 calendar from Sonic Channel after almost seventeen years of her absence [32] [41] [51] [52] [63], the three forthcoming titles yet to be discussed are beaming in a wholesome kind of fantasy in their own ways, providing their own potentials [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. Beyond being potentially “defined” by online hate, blatant misrepresentation [24] [64], and risks of being manipulated, I shall relish in pride in being a preppy nerd who sees said potential in three forthcoming titles and analyse what all three titles will have to offer [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62].

I adore the soothing music and the theme of mental health benefits in Kinder World [33]. Could three upcoming games be as recommendable in terms of wholesomeness and some form of tranquillity? [33]

Attention, digital art lovers! The vibrant and beautifully pixelated graphics seem to enrich the mood of crafting quirky and adorable imagery for clients, which appears to be the objective of the forthcoming game from Spellbound Games titled “Sticky Business” [54] [62]. However, there is no way to exactly draw any element as there is a list of images on the right to select, rotate, resize, rearrange, and combine, much like in Rugrats Print Shop, a creative software I played with a lot when I was a kid [3] [48]. The list includes a gay pride flag, a bisexual flag, a non-binary flag, and an asexuality flag, making it a virtual haven for LGBTQIA+ players [38] [54] [62]. There is also a section of blank shapes that can be coloured in, depending on the player’s choice [54] [62]. The player can earn some of these images by purchasing them with coins or heats from the Sticker Shop within a rewards system, leading to some motivation to send completed imagery to clients for a certain amount of time. Why do the visuals and gameplay remind me of “Dos Boot”, the seventh episode of the third season of Dexter’s Laboratory [18]? Sometime in the second quarter of 2023, Sticky Business could be stuck in the hearts of a creative casual crowd [54] [62]. 

The player can also add some effects to the stickers, such as glittery hearts and learn a little about each client [54] [62]. I would also recommend the gay pride flag and some galactic sticker designs to Stolas from Helluva Boss [35] [37]. [62]

The experience of Sticky Business might as well be the modern-day equivalent of Rugrats Print Shop [3] [48], much to my delight. [62]

There is a crowdfunding page for Camper Van: Make It Home on Kickstarter [34] [50] [57]. The premise of the upcoming simulation is freely organising a camper van at a tranquil pace in a way that is like arranging furniture in a house or dormitory in The Sims 2: Super Collection and in an apartment in The Sims 2: Apartment Life [1] [19] [20] (which could have been called “The Sims 2: Flat Life” in the United Kingdom [49]) [34] [50] [57]. The visuals are artistically stunning, enhancing the vibes of a summery getaway in a camper van, thanks to Alba Marless, Pablo Ruiz, Ene Arizkorreta and Laura Rueda [34] [50]. One of the most notable aspects of the simulation would be the adorable dog named “Buffy” who will be the player’s travelling partner [57]. Alternatively, either a cat or iguana can be the companion [50]. There is also merchandise for backers, which is a promotionally thoughtful way to thank them for their donations and support. As an animal crosser who has recently gotten back into Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp after receiving a new iPhone 13 Mini as a birthday present [44] [66] [67], I can tell that Camper Van: Make It Home is going to be something special on Steam, mobile platforms, and the Nintendo Switch, especially if you have travelled in a camper van before [34] [50] [57]. 

Shout-out to the creative director of Camper Van: Make It Home, Anabel Sánchez and all the other members of Matapata Studio [34]! I hope the Kickstarter page will reach its goal this May [50]! And speaking of The Sims, there will be four new kits for The Sims 4 from April to June [55]. [50]

Someday, I can have an ideal pet who will be there whether I feel like I need to benefit my mental health aside from watering plants in Kinder World [27] [28] [29] [30] [33]. [50]

If you adore building a new world within your own flow in a sandbox, Gourdlets could be right up your pixelated alley. The experience shown in the gameplay trailer appears to be Minecraft in the eyes of a Stardew Valley character in a bird’s eye view [9] [39] [46]. As shown in the Steam trailer in November 2022 and the Demo trailer in January, the creator of a new land can even decide how big their island will be by placing new chucks of land, which would feel quite like expanding a restaurant in Restaurant City or a nightclub in Nightclub Cityback in the simpler, drama-free Facebook days, but no levelling up required [3] [19]. Alongside the growth of the island, the population of cubic creatures known as “gourdlets” will increase and interact with various aspects of the town, such as roasting marshmallows by a campfire and fishing in a dock. The interior of houses can also be customised, much like the progress of arranging objects in Restaurant City and Nightclub City [3] [19]. There ought to be a lot more to enrich a flourishing new island with and to ensure that gourdlets will always be safe and happy after the overall reception of the demo. 

Gourdlets also provides the option to build a new land in the daytime or at night [58] [59] [60]. What a missed opportunity to change the time of day in Club Penguin [11]! [59]

Did I mention that the pixelated graphics in Gourdlets look marvellous with blossomed animations, providing some form of liveliness within the power of freely building a country with no objectives [2] [58] [59] [60]? Aside from how the stems of the gourdlets’ heads remind me of the Pikmin from the Pikmin series [45], the shape of their bodies reminds me of Talking Carl [10]. You know, the red creature that repeats what you say on your mobile device? Let us hope none of them will get into a fight over whose voice is higher [5]. [58]

In conclusion, all three forthcoming games have been proposed to provide some form of creative interaction in a different way [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62], much to my interest. Aside from the full potential of the calmness and creativity of Sticky Business, Camper Van: Make it Home and Gourdlets, we can tune into something lot more zany and humourous, like Pizza Possum, which is an upcoming action game about a possum who gobbles up food on a run from the police [61]. Has that pesky little fella looked up to Sly Cooper at some point [47] [53]? Speaking of cunning video game characters, some of them at least have the potential to provide some form of wholesome as Bowser’s bizarrely beautiful ballad dedicated to Princess Peach almost moved me to tears and I am still thankful for how Deadpool helped me cope in 2020 [22] [68]. He has been one of my coping mechanisms for three years [25] [65]. The wholesomeness and causal nature of Sticky Business, Camper Van: Make It Home 
and Gourdlets awaits those who seek new interactive adventures apart from some rereleases and remarkable recreations of treasured memories [4] [31] [56] [57] [58] [62]. Even during times of toxicity and sudden misfortune, let us continue to be kind for the sake of those in need as we wait for or work on engaging new establishments [12] [13] [25] [40] [44] [56]. 

A fast-paced action game with some antiheroic comedy awaits those who like pizza…and possums (including Moxxie from Helluva Boss [36]?). In the meantime, fans of Attack on Titans better not strive in the storm for too long in the latest collaboration in Fortnite [21]. [61]

As for the three games with wholesome premises that provide some form of creativity, they await gamers out there like me, from the freedom of building a homeland for gourdlets to diligently creating imagery for clients within a business [2] [50] [54] [57] [58] [62]. Which one will you choose to play to unwind at the time of its initial release date? Or why not give all three of them a shot? It is your freedom as a player! Make the most of it! [62]

What Would Be Another Ideal Date For Gamers?

Calling all gamers in love over a week before Valentine’s Day! Last year, we discussed what could be an ideal date for two players in a special relationship, such as raiding a tomb for treasure as archaeologists and being a plumber and a princess in a zany super world [119] [120]. Video games may not be real, but there is nothing wrong with being imaginative and putting yourself in a playable protagonist’s shoes, although not all of them wear shoes. Aside from the appetite for two caterpillar cakes named “Collin” and “Connie” for the season of love and affection [54], how about we give each nerdy couple some ideas for another Valentine’s date [48]? The madness had already started with Deadpool back in January. Besides, he took over the promotional again a week before he became a downloadable fighter for Marvel’s Midnight Suns [42] [43] [44] [45] [46]. A new idea for an ideal date for a gamer could be staring blankly as if your valentine was a vampire whose skin sparkles in sunlight [1]. But then again, maybe not. Arguably much better ideas can make up for those awkwardly dramatic breakups in Club Penguin back in the day [26], along with how cart surfing would not be a recommendable activity in real life to this day [20] [36]. 

I have come a long way since I played the first ten of the educational CD Rom game series known as “Learning Land” when I was a child [69] [78] [79]. Now I know what my name sounds like [28]. I also wonder if there will be some new colours for the Nintendo Switch Lite and the Playdate later this year [108]. But for this week, let us be hopelessly romantic and nerdy a few days after the return of the deep pink Xbox Series X/S controller [121]. [58]

Last time, we discussed inspiration from the Super Mario franchise first [119] [120]. Why not gain some ideas from The Legend of Zelda this year? Just call me “Little Miss Valentine” if you are a Nintendo nerd [50] [103]! Link, the hero of Hyrule is, without a doubt, the ideal significant other for Princess Zelda [104]. Surely, whether the relationship is canon or not depends on what timeline each instalment follows, but it is still iconic to many Nintendo nerds and seemingly a lot more developed than the relationship between Mario and Princess Peach in the Super Mario franchise [73] [104] [119] [120]. But still, whether your OTP (One True Pairing) is canon or not, please do not be toxic with your devotion to it [108]. Who knows how further the relationship between Link and Zelda will bloom in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild that shall be released this May [60]? If you and your valentine are fans of the Legend of Zeldafranchise, one of you could be the brave Link and the other can be Zelda or any of her alter-egos [122]. How about a kiss from your valentine for luck [7]?

To an extent, my old creepypasta fan phase must have been jealous of my current hazbean phase for a few years [52] [53]. Consider Sonic.EXE an evil ex of mine [39] [63]. Aside from that, Deadpool might as well use both the Power of Love AND the Power of Self-Respect since he is skilled in wielding two katanas [15] [16] [71] [72].  Heart Star is an adorable puzzle game about a blue-haired boy who can summon blue star blocks and a pink-haired girl who can activate pink heart blocks [2] [3] [4]. The design of the girl in the pink hearts realm vaguely reminds me of Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time who kissed Marceline the Vampire Queen in the series finale [5] [12] [70] [73]. Since the boy in the blue stars realm has hair quite like Mordecai’s feathers in Regular Show, could he have once pretended that an aeroplane was like a shooting star for the sake of making a wish [47] [114] [115]? I fondly remember being infatuated with the game’s concept and how engaging the challenging puzzles are as I played the remastered version on my iPad after my second university semester and during the Christmas break back in 2018 [4]. It is possible that the two friends in parallel worlds are crushing on one another. Whether you and your significant other follow the “blue for a boy and pink for a girl” trope or not [99], you can reunite and rejoice on a platform, colliding two worlds together into one world of a specific colour and symbol [4]. Just watch out for the spikes!

Stardew Valley is, without a doubt, a masterpiece for the casual crowd inspired by the Harvest Moon series [13]. Speaking of polygamy and polyandry, if a simmer feels as lusty as Don Lothario, who will be their Nina and who will be their Dina [8]? I think I will stick to the lifestyle of two sims based on me and my fiancé. Will Project Rene lead to The Sims 5 finally coming true like a dream [93]? Speaking of dreams, could there be a first dream date for Mortimer and Bella as college students in a university-themed expansion pack for The Sims 5 since their college lives have never been established before [118] [119]?

Who is your Bella to your Mortimer? I remember making my sim become romantically interested in Tristan Legend in the Nintendo DS version of The Sims 2 [23] [94]. I still stand by how a university-themed expansion pack for The Sims 5 should introduce the two as college students, which is likely to be the time they got engaged [117] [118]. Alternatively, they could be reintroduced in the base game with their two children and perhaps have a third child named “Mathilde” [91]. In addition, Cecilia Goth from the Nintendo DS version of The Sims 3 can make a return as a child, being Alexander’s best friend [24] [89]. And as a simmer, I wholeheartedly wish The Sims a happy 23^rd anniversary [86]! [92]

Any other suggestions? You can take your crush to the prom at a high school attended by monsters [58]. As previously mentioned last year, you can race against one another in your favourite karts in any of the Mario Kart games [105] [106]. Can you imagine if the idea of Rayman and Ly the Fairy being in a romantic relationship was not presumably scrapped for the outcome of Rayman 2: The Great Escape [66]? Perhaps one of you can be the fairy and the other can be a robotic pirate’s nemesis as you two spend some time on a ship [67]. For those who still tune into Tomodachi Life to this day, you may recall the list of ways to help a Mii try to win the heart of their crush, even though one or two love rivals may butt in and decrease the chance of acceptance from the crush [57]. As for romantic relationships in the game in general, they might as well bloom in a romantic ballad sung by two soulmates on stage. Once again, your date of destiny depends on the games you two adore best [48] [104] [119] [120]. How about some white pearl strawberries dipped in strawberry white chocolate as you two lovebirds snap back into reality [38] [80]?

There probably was not enough room in Rayman 2’s plot for a decently established romance between Rayman and Ly [66] [67]. At least there is always enough room in real life for love, including same-sex marriage, which ought to be featured in a sequel to Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo Switch [61]. As a fellow gay rights supporter, my fiancé is always sure to make me feel loved in a hateful world as we are as inseparable as Cleo De Nile and Deuce Gorgon from the Monster High franchise [27] [49] [65] [68] [77] [102]. Unfortunately, not every gamer has feelings for Valentine’s Day [40]. During my previous article on ideal dates for gamers, I had no intention to make any single gamers feel left out of the fun like a Wii Remote out of battery power or a sim who broke up with a former partner, nor shove the commercialistic aspect of celebrating Valentine’s Day in their faces [22] [83] [119] [120]. If you are single, you can always embrace your independence during solo gameplay, just like in Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider and Samus Aran in the Metroid series [51]. And yes, there is always…loving yourself if you know what Deadpool means [15] [82]. It is cool to not show that you are overly desperate for a partner [95], especially when it comes to understanding boundaries on social media [21], but that should not evolve into misandristic or misogynistic behaviour. After all, neither should be allowed when it comes to ensuring that a gameplay experience is free from toxicity. Whether you have a valentine this year or not, you can always treat yourself to some heart-shaped chocolate or a Valentine’s Day-themed doughnut during the gameplay [54]. Moreover, you can still be kind to your fellow gamers and wish them the best if they happen to be in a relationship, even after Valentine’s Day.

Even if you are single, you can root for your OTPs in your favourite franchises and even make some Valentine’s Day-themed fanart of them if you are an artist [11], but again, do not go overboard with supporting them by being a fanbrat [107]. The same activity can apply to establishing canon romances between your own fictional characters [96] [97]. Too bad Red seems to have left his female counterpart for The Lamb [6] [14]. [6]

I will be sure to make the most of another Valentine’s Day with my fiancé who is a big video game collector. In his new yellow suit with a wizard hat and a garlic necklace [41], Deadpool might as well go on a hot date after he crashed Cinderella’s latest ball on Friday the 13^th [109], which could lead some of her demonic minions sneaking into the abbey solely for the new food truck [42]. Speaking of antiheroes being chaotic, I am sure that I could be charmed by a new episode of the second season of Helluva Boss after the LVL UP EXPO events in Las Vegas [11] [32] [35], despite the show’s decline in viewership [31]. It does not take a love meter to find true love, even though some fans of Betty Boop got a thrill out of one back in 2011 [9]. As for your ideal gaming-related date, perhaps some cosplaying can be involved, depending on the date of destiny you choose to play [56]. It is entirely up to you. Whether you have a disability or not, you deserve to be in a happy and healthy relationship or cherish the independence of being single and be able to achieve what you want to achieve [81]. Have a nerdy Valentine’s Day [34] [76]! And again, please roleplay responsibly [118] [119].
