Can Lara Croft Survive Dead by Daylight This July?

A rumour speculating the appearance of Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise in a yet another crossover event in Dead by Daylight spawned during the Twisted Masquerade Event (and the admirations for Barbie’s stylish collaborations with Putt Buddies and the modern incarnation of Polly Pocket from those who would be…shall we say…”too afraid” to play [1] [36] [38] [39]? There is nothing wrong with going for both femininely fun AND frightening though, especially if you consider yourself seduced by a certain Catherine… [7]) [21]. This rumour was later confirmed as one daring gamer can tell by a few promotional clips on social media and some footage of beta testing for Croft’s strive to…you guessed it [3] [9] [19] [20] [23]! Survive! It looks like ijug’s mod of the iconic archaeologist in the game he showcased back in December 2021 has predicted the future and so has my prediction that she would eventually make an appearance in an event due to how unsettling and gruesome her deaths are in the Survivor timeline trilogy [29] [45] [49] [50]. Although I am thrilled that another prediction of mine has come true [49] [50], I am nervous for one of my all-time favourite video game characters as she will play the role of a new Survivor in Dead by Daylight next month [3] [9] [10]. In the meantime, Aestri Yazar maintains the role of a Survivor as Vecna keeps on killing as a Killer for fans of Dungeons & Dragons in the survival horror game that has spooked players for eight years [15] [17].

By now, you know that the beloved heroine is no stranger to crossovers as you may recall her guest appearances in Magic: The Gathering, The Walking Dead: Survivors, Brawlhalla and so on [5] [24] [28] [46] [47]. You may be thinking that her forthcoming appearance in Dead by Daylight is not really needed as you can already customise a Survivor to look a lot like her with the right features, especially the brunette low ponytail [31]. Nonetheless, you cannot deny the thrill of THE Lara Croft officially becoming a Survivor [3] [9] [10]. Too scared to play as her in a survival horror game this July? You can look forward to nurturing your campsite throughout the rest of this Summer in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp if you consider yourself an animal crosser instead [35] [37]. [10]

The younger and more emotionally vulnerable but ultimately courageous incarnation of Ms. Croft from the reboot that was launched in 2013 is rendered in all her strength and beauty in The Fog [11] [19] [23]. The one who will guide her through her most horrifying journey yet must help her uncover treasures in chests and cooperate with other Survivors, such as Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise and Alan Wake from the game with the same name [2] [3] [9] [12]. It would be quite bizarre to see her get assassinated by Chucky from the Child’s Play franchise [14], Michael Myers from the Halloween films or Naughty Bear from the game with the same name [16] [25] [26] [27] [34]. Nevertheless, Croft’s survival instincts in the grittiness and suspenseful nature of Dead by Daylight can be considered much more fitting and a little more in character than her building and destroying houses during a storm in the colourful world of Fortnite [10] [11] [19] [20] [22] [23] [51]. As terrified as I am for my girl whose goal is to triumph against the Killer with three fellow Survivors next month [3] [9] [10] [11] [19] [20], I am still as proud of her for being a special guest in Dead by Daylight as I was proud of all three incarnations her for being part of the second chapter of the sixth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale back in Spring 2021 [51].

Still too scared to join Lara Croft in Dead by Daylight after the beta testing for her appearance [23]? Feel free to set an entirely different mood by diving into Crab God instead [48]. Admittedly, the crossover trend in Dead by Daylight is not as “forced” as many crossovers in Fortnite: Battle Royale due to it all being centred on horror [14] [15] [16] [50]. What could be next? The Slender Man becoming a new Killer in the game [42]? Well, that could be the case if the concept was not hindered by the risk of disrespecting the lore of the mythical icon and the horrific impact a certain incident that happened in real life left on a community a decade ago [8] [41] [43] [44] [52] [56]. I could suggest the Blitzo or Striker from Helluva Boss becoming a new Killer to witness an imp from Hell in an outstanding new 3D style [4] [33] [40], but the show’s adult humour and cartoony artistry would probably not clash well with the game’s realistic essences of survival horror [32]. Crusaders of the Castlevania series are sure to stay alert this August after Ms. Croft’s determination to survive on the 16^th of July [9] [13]. As hardened as a modernised “classic” incarnation of her was in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile nearly a year ago [6], can the younger incarnation from the first game in the Survivor timeline survive in Dead by Daylight this year [19] [20]? 

Be the best Survivor in Dead by Daylight you can be as if you were in Ms. Croft’s boots over a week before the release of Deadpool & Wolverine this July [3] [9] [10] [30] [55]! And keep an eye out for her new character growth in Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft on Netflix this October [53] [54]! In all seriousness, even after the primes of popular creepypastas, we need to keep respecting boundaries and ensuring that others, especially minors are safe when it comes to showing admiration for horror as it is creativity, not reality [8] [43] [52]. Four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles In Fortnite

Cowabunga, dudes and dudettes! 2023 was a wild year for TMNT with the release of their new cinematic origin known as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” and some crossovers in Fall Guys, Minecraft, and Street Fighter 6 [16] [18] [22] [23]! In the first half of 2024, the heroism of Leonardo, the leader, Raphael, the tough guy, Donatello, the genius and Michelangelo, the party animal is welcomed to the world of Fortnite [6] [7] [9]. But before that, it was confirmed that there might be an even bigger crossover in Fortnite with various Disney stars after a deal was made between Disney and Epic Games [5]. Yes, Fortnite: Battle Royale may have been given some flak for overreliance on crossover events and some have made less sense than others [31], but I still sense some potential in a crossover with TMNT as iconic as they are and there have been some crossovers in Fortnite: Battle Royale that were quite memorable to me and many others. As Disney devotees dive into the sixth season of Disney Speedstorm [15] [32], let us sharpen our katanas in preparation to kick some bad guy butt and rock and roll with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [6] [7] [9]!

Very interesting auditory choice in the cinematic trailer inspired by Dynamite Dance, an animated short starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd if you ask me [7] [26]. Reflecting on last year’s crossovers [27] [28] [29], some of us have suspected a collaboration with Fortnite would occur eventually [6] [7] [9]. [7]

And as always, Master Splinter and April O’Neil deserve the praise they get for their supporting roles throughout the years [18] [23]. [6]

During the new event, the turtles appear in three modes; Fortnite: Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival [6] [9]. In all honestly, as overdone a crossover in Fortnite: Battle Royale has been [31] [33] [34] [35], their mightiness in the gameplay is the most faithful to their legacy and would lead to some pretty interesting battles with skins of guest stars from previous events unlocked by fellow Fortnite fighters [6] [9], such as Spider-Man, Deadpool, Kratos, Nathan Drake and Peter Griffin [3] [8] [31] [34] [35]. They and their master look pretty neat in LEGO forms in LEGO Fortnite and it would be interesting to see them strive through a survival sandbox quest [6] [9] [31], which might as well apply to Lara Croft alongside another appearance in Fortnite: Battle Royale in a future event [33]. The concept of the turtles in a band with Master Splinter and April O’Neil brought into action in Fortnite Festival looks quite like a mod in Guitar Hero World Tour: Definitive Edition [6] [9] [11], leading me to wonder who could appear in the mode inspired by the likes of the Guitar Hero series next [31]. Of course, there is nothing wrong with a video game franchise wanting to try something new, even if a new mode would be too dissimilar for a Fortnite fighter’s tastes.

You should have seen that transition from Fortnite: Battle Royale to LEGO Fortnite [6] [9]! [6]

Perhaps the next crossover in Fortnite Festival can feature the interpretation of Barbie from the live-action feminist phenomena that made over a billion dollars at the box office as the team behind its effects recently won the BizBash award for “Best TV or Film Premiere Event” and a collaboration in Fortnite Festival this Summer can honour the film’s first anniversary and the Barbie franchise’s 65^th anniversary [1] [2] [10] [21] [30]. On second thought, if a stake in Epic Games did not get acquired by Disney [5], that would be possible later this year. [6]

Considering how many crossovers there have been throughout the chapters and seasons of Fortnite: Battle Royale, it is understandable why the four noble turtles’ adventures in three Fortnite games are not as surprising as those who feel quite overwhelmed by the reliance on so many crossovers to stay hip [6] [7] [9] [31]. Nonetheless, some originally can always peep from the sewers of production as the animated series that is a spin-off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem titled “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will premiere on Paramount+ the Summer after the premiere of Knuckles on the same streaming platform this April [12] [17]. As for the turtles’ special guest appearances in Fortnite: Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival [6] [7] [9], they are sure to help some gamers come out of their shells (that hopefully have not been jumped on by a red-hatted plumber or his brother) until near the end of this month [6] [13] [14]. In the meantime, the goal is the collect Ooze to gain items through the Free Rewards Track [6], so try your best if you consider yourself a fan of TMNT, Fortnite fighter! Anyone for pizza later?

Whether the game based on the comic book miniseries known as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” will be sadly cancelled or not [19] [20] [25], let us hope for the best for the innocent people affected by the hackers and the job losses within the uproar in the gaming industry last year and the beginning of this one [20] [32]. Uncharted Discovers The World Of Fortnite

Greetings, Fortnite fighters! I hope you are all having a blast in the third chapter that began back in December so far [6] [7]. As mentioned in a unique celebration of Valentine’s Day with my fellow gamers [28] [29], I watched the official movie based on the Uncharted franchise starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and praised its positive qualities [23], even though I understand that some fans would prefer the fan film starring Nathan Fillion as Nate that was released in 2018 [24]. In honour of celebrating fifteen years of the Uncharted franchise alongside the official film, the handsome and adventurous male equivalent of Lara Croft has been welcomed to the world of Fortnite [12] [13]. Yes, I know. Some of us gamers are sick and tired of hearing about Fortnite at this point and some of their crossovers with third-party characters make less sense than others [27]. Nevertheless, the third chapter has only just begun with only one season so far that included Spider-Man’s participation, including his symbiote suit most notably from Spider-Man 3 [18]. Furthermore, there is still a lot of potential for some more crossovers that are at least legit in terms of enriching both wittiness and skilled weaponry [5].

Of course, this is not the first crossover Nathan Drake has been in. Remember his rivalry with Sly Cooper, along with his eventual role reversal with Crash Bandicoot [10] [17] [22]? [12] [13]

Firstly, there is the incarnation of Mr. Drake based on his origin in the live-action film in Fortnite graphics, along the version of Chloe Frazer played by Sophia Ali [12] [13] [24]. The resemblances sure are striking. Secondly, the older and more experienced equivalent from Uncharted 4: Thief’s End is ready for the battle to not perish in the storm [16], especially for those who consider Uncharted 4 to be their favourite game of the series. The incarnation of Chloe that is more notably from Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is also encased in the cartoony realism of the ongoing roster of crossovers [15]. They all look quite vibrant with accurately selected colours in the further expanded world of Fortnite [12] [13]. This is similar to how the younger Lara Croft from the Survivor timeline of the Tomb Raider franchise and the bolder and more experienced Lara from Tomb Raider Anniversary are part of the collaboration with the sixth season of the previous chapter of Fortnite, along with the old school Lara beautifully re-rendered for a variety of tomb raiders who are also Fortnite fighters [27]. I am sure there are fans of the Uncharted franchise who prefer to ship Nate with Chloe [24], so go ahead and ship away, sailors.

And imagine how determined one Fortnite fighter would still be when it comes to fighting for survival! [12] [13]

As previously stated, some collaborations from the seasons of the previous chapters make less sense than others [27]. I do not doubt Chloe and Lara will be an awesome duet when it comes to combining female empowerment in archeology, whether it will be with their less experienced or their hardened selves [12] [13] [27]. I think Nathan and Deadpool will get along well, considering they are both charming and skilled in gunnery [3] [4]. Surely, the dance moves, especially the floss are too witty for third-party characters like Kratos from the God of War franchise [5] [9] [27], but at least he will still be the vengeful fighter and father figure we shall behold in God of War Ragnarök later this year [8] [14]. I can see that there have been so many characters from other franchises participating in the seasons of Fortnite because of how popular and profitable it has become ever since its launch back in 2017 [5]. Nonetheless, I still understand that many of the ambitious crossovers seem forced, overshadowing potential for the original Fortnite characters to stand out and some third-party properties are better off left alone without any need for a crossover [27], despite how there is always a story on fanfiction.net to check out for the sake of potential. 

It would be wittily awkward to be the Tom Holland Nate interaction with Spider-Man, considering Holland is also the current Peter Parker [21]. [12] [13]

What is ultimately more important than a forced crossover would be being the one to survive the storm [5]! [12] [13]

In conclusion, two incarnations of Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer joining the ambitiously large Fortnite league during the third chapter is pretty much the three iconic incarnations Lara Croft being a Fortnite fighter in the sixth season of the second chapter back in 2021 all over again [12] [13] [27]. Speaking of different seasons, I might as well write a witty spoof of the Ayo Beatz remix of I Wish by Joel Corry and Mabel that consists of lyrics based on the second season of Helluva Boss later this year or two [2] [11] [26]. As for Drake in Fortnite, do any of the other third-party characters from previous collaborations fancy a drink served by him [23]? I still think there ought to be a second crossover with Deadpool that features his classic red gloves and the yellow X-Force T-shirt from Deadpool 2 if there will be more crossovers to come in the new chapter of Fortnite [4] [25]. Besides, he just cannot help but react to forthcoming adventures of other Marvel heroes [1]. I wonder what could be next. Ratchet and Clank in the next season of the third chapter [18] [19]? Outside of Fortnite, I am up for seeing a sequel to the Uncharted film with several improvements, especially more faithfulness to the games [23].
